Two of My Favorites Now becoming A Couple

I have always been a fan of KDE. It has worked well for years, and I have found very few problems with any of their mature projects.

I bought my first netbook about a year after the first Eee became public. I was very impressed with having a mini notebook that can operate on its battery an entire work-day. Then I heard about some KDE members working on a netbook friendly GUI and window management using their new Plasma architecture(   widgets that can be integrated in applications and the desktop with an option of programming languages to create them ). Concequently with KDE 4 still being smoothed out, but quite usable and fun, and now the netbook Plasma widgets, which I have been trying , I really don't have a life.

If you are adventurous and can not wait until April 2010( although one can also install the kubuntu-netbook meta package for Kubuntu 9.10, then you may also enjoy the new KDE Plasma widgets by installing Lucid Lynx. It is quite stable, but I would up-date the packages immediately after the installation( sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade or sudo aptitude. In Addition, go for a break during the update. As it will take some time. Anyway, the only usability issue that I had was the Netbook Plasma widget's layout being difficult to manage. The Newspaper view would not currently allow me to move contained Plasmets around. Still, everything else has been working like a charm. Well, Plasma crashes occasionally, but if you want to help? Then, install the plasma debugging symbols. So, you will have a helpful crash report to send to the developers.

New Official Firefox Web Combing Tool Arriving

Well I first found this( http://www.linux-mag.com/cache/7567/1.html) article from Linux Magazine, and I of course think that competition from the Mozilla team could mean that other services may improve. Such as dil.icio.us, dig.com, facebook.com, twitter.com, identi.ca, Wordpress and Drupal. There are of course more. Anyway I'll have to try it sometime.

Open Suse Forum is slow on install help this December.

Well I tried to install opensuse on my amd2 machine and the screen would randomly blank-out during the install process. So I just posted on the forums my problem, and I proceeded to install another distribution( there are many possible Linux distribution to try). Anyway my unanswered post is here(  http://forums.opensuse.org/install-boot-login/426361-11-2-random-screen-blank-freeze.html) if someone know about the issue.

The author here (http://dkukawka.blogspot.com/2007/01/kde-tablet-pc-support.html) provides a patch for HAL(v0.5.8/git). So as to, "detect Tablet PCs and set the needed Ports correctly and automatically", for XDM, "to show xvkbd on login, and for KDE, "to show xvkbd on the unlock dialog from Lubos Lunak."

SuSE 11.2 64 Bit Installer Fails Hardware Detection part 1

I had downloaded the latest opensuse installer for 64 bit binaries, and the screen would flicker on and off so much and randomly that I gave up at that point. I came across some forum posts that had black screen in their title, but they did not cover my scenario. An idea might be to install the Nvidia drivers during installation although the install seemed to give the option to use the vesa driver. Still I had the same very annoying screen flicker.  I don't know when I will write a solution. Hopefully by the next opensuse release.

Some KDE Apps Are Slowly Progressing

KDE four has followed Trolltech's development of QT from version three to four, and has lead to the need for developers to implement the new APIs in their applications that have been written with integration in the KDE desktop as a design goal. Although, KDE 4 has had many design changes and programming API changes as well. So, this broken applications are not surprising, but has lead me to wonder how developers could be better informed.

For some good news, kaudiocreator has been tested with KDE 4 and has recently reached version 1.2.81 after which version 1.2.81 was ported to KDE 4(http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=107645). Also, Gentoo has added version 1.2.81 to the portage tree( developer ssuominen ). The KDE application Kooka has not been well ported to KDE 4(http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Kooka), but there are reported alternatives. Such as the work to integrate scanning into koffice and kolourpaint via libkscan. K3b has been ported to KDE 4. Although, it is still considered beta. Thus there are features that have not been fully implemented nor tested in k3b beta. An IDE for KDE 4 has also not been completed(www.kdevelop.org). The kdevelop suite is currently in beta testing for KDE 4. The micro blogging KDE 4 application Choqok(choqok.gnufolks.org)supports Twitter, Identi.ca, self-hosted Laconica, but does not have support for some popular sites microblogging-like status feature, e.g. facebook.com . The Web-development centric KDE application Quanta Plus has not been ported to KDE 4, and the note-taking centric KDE application has also not been ported. The basket Web-site( http://basket.kde.org/roadmap.php ) has reported likely support in the 2.0 release. The Web-site( http://www.kdedevelopers.org/node/2830 ) also is reporting support in the 1.1.3 release of kexi scheduled to be released with koffice 2.0 .  KBibTex is currently being ported as reported at( http://home.gna.org/kbibtex/ ). KMyMoney, a personal accounting applicaition or personal finance manager that was presented at Akademy 2008 by Thomas Baumgart( http://kmymoney2.sourceforge.net/index-home.html ) may one day be ported to KDE 4. The Jetta Passes Maryland State Inspection

Yesterday my Jetta Was marked at 119951 Miles on the odometer.

Yesterday I changed the cap and rotor. As regular maintenance to maintain the car's ignition system. The contacts had corrosion build-up. I bought the parts from Advanced Auto Parts. The cap now on the car is a BWD Engine Management Technology C742, and the rotor is a BWD Engine Management Technology Z-series D637Z.

Earlier this week I had also changed the High Tension Leads(HTL). As the insulation that were on the vehicle's previous HTLs had started to dry-rote.

Also during the past month I had other maintenance completed. The muffler and the rear strut mounts were replaced by a mechanic at my brothers work, a dealership. I had also replaced the front strut boots, thrust-bearings, and the oil trap's 60 degree rub er PVC hose. In addition, I replaced the oil( with 0W-30 for the winter) and oil filter.

Morel Habitat Spawn

Yesterday I tilled some earth under some pine tree. So I could turn the morel habitat spawn into the freshly tilled soil. After that I stared off by adding some kitchen rubbish to feed them. Well, that's all I absolutely need to do to maintain the shroom patch. The shroom patch is in a shaded section of the back garden, and needs organic rubbish added regularely. As rubbish is what shroom eat. Now that that Maryland should provide plenty of precipitation, I will not need to add much water. Although, one should be sure that the shroom patch stays moist. As a closing note, I shouldn't have much else interesting to tell about this patch until the next morel spring. I'm not exactly when the morel spring starts in this laditude and hemisphere, but I should have a few months before the next step should start. As the included directions explained, around the morel spring the shroom grower needs to see that shroom food( rubbish) is not entering the patch. The reduction of nutrients during morel spring causes a signal to the mushrooms main body( mycelium) to produce morel mushrooms. They start their way out of the ground looking like tiny rhynosorus tusks. Then grow through out a few days to a week to there full grown morel shroom body. I'm going to hope that it really will survive the winter. Perhaps I'll need to cover the ground there with something. As I gave-up earlier, I'll give my results during morel spring, and any observations in the meantime.

I've just became aware of the accepted medicinal properties of the native Brazilian Mushroom, Agaricus Blazei Murill. This is suppose to be another natural source of a some cancer preventing chemicals. I wonder if it has a pleasant tast or not, and if it has a significant amount of essential vitamins?

unser Fachbücher sind nicht einfach genug. Zum Biespiel einige Formualen habe ich noch nicht gefindet. So wie so, muss ich im Bibliotech suchen. Ich muss auch mehr den "nomenclacher" mehr üben. Doch, ich verstehen meisten davor schon, aber einige besonder struktur mir aufregen noch könnte. Es ist einfach meinen Problieme schon. Doch ich muss bald der kurs Powerpount benutzen! Es könnte mir meine Kurs Marken besser lass. So wie so, I habe gute umwelt gefundet, und konnte besser scharfstelle. Zum Ende verstehen was ich müsste tun. Also schreiben spater mehr an.

I May Be Able to Use This Next Time I Have An Audio Issue

The only other thing I can think of is with firefox open and playing a youtube page, post your lsof output incase some other process if locking up your alsa.

What's happen and how can i solve it?

shmmax is just the maximum sized memory segment a process can request, an increase shouldn't really be a security issue, and the increase they're asking for is only 4 times the default, which isn't that much.

You can just add "kernel.shmmax 134217728" to /etc/sysctl.conf to have it set to 0x8000000 upon each boot.
Alternatively you could just run the echo command as suggested, and then run `echo 33554432 > /proc/sys/kernel/shmmax` to reset it to the default when finished with cinerella, if you're really concerned about it.

So, I'll be looking at /etc/sysctl.conf sometime soon, and maybe read more about it, starting with the man page.

My Used 1997 Jetta GT

I recently bought a Jetta GT and I have incurred the task of assessing the vehicles fitness to pass Marylands State Inspection. The vehicle was, as I originally inspected the vehicle, in good condition except for the clutch. The clutch seemed a bit weak, and thought that I would only need to put an additional few hundred in parts. Having looked at numerous other vehicles I decided fairly quickly that this car would do. I bought the vehicle the next day for two thousand, and he kindly dropped the car off by my residence.

In preperasion for replacing the hardware that came with the clutch-kit -- a clutch disc, pressure plate, two plate shaped discs, and a spring clip. I also purchased new bolts to go with the clutch-kit, had dowel pins to replace the ones on the shifting mechanisum. In addition, I'll replace the front strut boots, and look-over more closely the CV boots, rubber mounts, rubber bushings, and rubber gromets. I found a rubber PVC hose with a gapping hole but was out of view. That PVC hose is going to be replaced today with a genuine VW part.

Well with the mechanics spoken about, I don't want to forget to mention some of its esthetics. The interrier is mostly a durable, not very hard plastic, and the upholstery is mostly black with some eighties blue, yellow red triangle patters and is in good condition. She also has a sunroof. I don't use it that much, but now half of the vehicles I've owned have had sunroofs again.

Still, even without a strong clutch, she holds the road fairly well, but was no where near the handling of the 2002 Volvo s40 that I was driving just before I bought the Jetta. Still, when I wrote, "she holds the road fairly well" I meant that she is better than a 1991 Honda Civic hatch-back I owned, and closer to how well the 1993 Mazda MX6 held the road. I drove her after I had the Honda. Further more the weight distribution feels like that of a 1991 Mazda MX6,that I owned before all the others mentioned so far, and the engines are very similar. Well, the only other vehicle I owned was a entirely blue ,from inside to out, 1985ish Pontiac Bonneville.

So right now my Jetta is struggling up hills. As the clutch is slipping more than in needed. Although, I haven't cared so much as driving fast will get one in trouble with the law in the States. Thus I'll have to readjust my habits after the new clutch-kit hardware has been put in there rightful place.
